What you will do

Working from our office in Groningen, you will be a part of an international group of people. And your main objectives are:

  • To manage the vessel’s operations and monitor fleet performance.
  • To find the optimal balance between commercial awareness and operational excellence. 
  • To manage the container fleet as efficient as possible and at the lowest possible costs. 

Your primary responsibility is to optimize the voyage results of the voyages under your management. On a daily basis, you will be responsible for the logistic guidance of several (reefer) container vessels, whereby you have contacts with the vessels, agents and customers all over the world. In this role you have a wide variety of responsibilities and tasks like:

  • Creating accurate voyage estimates and continuous control costs.
  • Preparing and dispatching voyage instructions and monitoring of the vessel’s performance. 
  • Planning voyage logistics, including stowage, loading and discharging.
  • Collaborating with stakeholders and managing daily operational issues.
  • Verifying Bills of Lading, manifests, and cargo release.
  • On a daily basis plan and coordinate the loading/discharging schedule of the vessels. 
  • Timely generate, update and finalize the vessel/voyage administration. 

What we require

  • BSc in the maritime industry.
  • Experience on board vessels or a Vessel Operator position ashore.
  • Self-propelled, proactive and able to work in an international team
  • Good written and spoken knowledge of the Dutch and English language
  • Able to work in compliance with our Seatrade Standards
  • An analytical mind with commercial understanding.
  • The ability to manage stressful situations.
  • An open-minded team player with a flexible attitude.

Living in the vicinity of Groningen (The Netherlands) and with permission to work in the EU (EU passport or valid Dutch working visa
