Your Mission:

As our QMS Manager / DPA, you’ll be at the helm to ensure that our fleet operates safely, sustainably, and cost-effectively, always in compliance with international, statutory, class, and local regulations. You will play a key role in developing and implementing procedures, overseeing compliance, and advising management on critical Quality, Health, Safety, and Environmental (QHSE) matters. You do this by providing a documented quality management standard, expertise, and competence while ensuring that all vessels sail with valid Flag-State, Class, IMO, and MARPOL-required certificates.

What You’ll Do:

  • Serve as the DPA, ensuring safety and pollution prevention across all managed vessels.
  • Act swiftly to correct any breaches in Quality, Safety, or Environmental policies.
  • Maintain the integrity of our QMS system, ensuring it meets all regulatory requirements.
  • Develop and update critical manuals (SOPEP, ISPS, NTVRP, etc.) in line with QMS standards.
  • Lead incident investigations, manage corrective actions, and oversee event reporting.
  • Provide leadership and guidance to Marine Superintendents, DPA Italy, Fleetteam Operators, and the RFMO Compliance Officer (in total 8 employees).
  • Coordinate security measures for high-risk voyages and act as the Company Security Officer (CSO).
  • Ensure ISM/ISO compliance both onboard and ashore, and manage internal and external audits.
  • Offer expert advice on changes in class, flag, or ownership of vessels contribute to and edit the Seatrade Newsletter, keeping the fleet informed.
  • Be available 24/7 for emergency calls, ensuring readiness and responsiveness.

What We’re Looking For:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in maritime studies, with at least 5 years of sea experience (Captain-level preferred).
  • A minimum of 5 years in a (semi) managerial position in a relevant field.
  • Strong leadership and people management skills with a team-oriented approach.
  • Exceptional communication skills in both English and Dutch.
  • Proven problem-solving abilities, particularly under high-pressure situations.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and database applications, with excellent analytical skills.
  • Living in the vicinity of Groningen.
