FDD is short for Fast, Direct and Dedicated, the three keystones of Seatrade’s logistics concept. The FDD concept is put into practice in all our services.

Seatrade has launched the concept of FDD as the new standard in the logistics of perishables. FDD stands for FAST, DIRECT and DEDICATED.

Loading and discharging at fruit ports allows for FAST loading, discharging and clearance of cargoes on board, with vessels sailing from load ports to discharge ports DIRECT without transhipment of cargoes, offering the shortest transit times.

While Seatrade is DEDICATED to the specialised mode of transport containers are a perfect complement for the carriage of some cargoes. Containers can be carried on deck without compromising the under deck space dedicated to larger palletised consignments, thus offering transport possibilities to a wide range of customers and cargoes. This means that Seatrade’s container services enjoy the same direct fast connections usually reserved for customers of specialised services.
